Plus, Ryu was trained by Akuma.

I have, and in the one I remember they each threw one fireball to finish off M. Bison. Not quite hundreds.

Last I checked, there are plenty of great falls in the 3d Mortal Kombats. Fighters in the mythos withstand a great deal of punishment.

I'm pretty sure that Scorpion, who can teleport at will, can "move at speeds untold of." Sub-Zero certainly isn't slow either. Where is it that Ryu and Ken are uber fast, anyway?

No he wasn't. He was trained by Akuma's brother, who refused to practice the deadly form that Akuma used.

Ryu != Akuma even if he were trained by him.
