Oh, durr.

Any size will do, and the first sig should be based around a theme of conflict. Any kind will do, physical or internal, historical or fictional. Just make it apparent in the sig what type of conflict it will be.

My bad, I forgot about this.

Vene's displays well more of the raw emotion and fury associated with a traditional conflict. However, the font blaring across the bottom of the sig is irritating more than eye-catching, and the singular color-scheme is plain, to say the least.

Janus, yours is simple and subtle, and highlights a deeper sort of conflict. This could have worked excellently, but it seems a bit too bland in the end, and I don't think the organization of those particular pictures helped the image of personal hatred and emnity that you were trying to pull off.

The winner is Veneficus, by a hair.
