I was formerly ticked off that a.) Treyarch was handling the CoD franchise again, and b.) the new game is set in WWII. Again.
But my cousin is in the beta, I played, and it's awesome. Tanks = win. SP Japanese-in-jungles = whoa. Attack dogs = pwned.
I mean, seriously, those things are freaking scary.

I agree. I prefer IW's job with COD than the job Treyarch did with COD3.
I heard there will be Nazi Zombies. Is this true?

No, but it gets crazy Japanese people hiding in trees with snipers and swords. And attack dogs.

Attack dogs? Jesus. I can't wait to belt one of those with a lead sphere.

I like that, although it's another WWII game, that they didn't abuse Germany. The Japan angle is still kind of fresh.

You want to camp in a trench all day long?

The strategy guide will be able to tell you the difference between the German artillery and the Austrian. Just think of the dynamic action!

I once played a game similar to that. You had to ration food, cigarettes and be tactical about your maneuvers from the trench and such. It was quite entertaining.
I had lots of characters who were gassed though.

Sounds like more of a survival game than an action game. Staying alive as in dodging bullets and bombs as opposed to the action of firing and lobbing grenades

I could say the same for any WW2 game. It was similar to a FPS except it was a lot more realistic and more complex.
Sorry the WW1 game isn't just "Pow Pow" and "Bang Bang."

Eh, it still sounds alright. It would probably be pretty fun, but I don't think it would have much replay value unless there was some online play...
That leads me to think, what if they had a large FPS for WW1 where there were gigantic 100000 person servers where you chose one side or the other and reenacted the hell of trench warfare.

I think that might be a little messy.
Kadaj

Well, I might have over exaggerated the size but something big, so that you could have people on both sides for the entire length of the trenches as they were in the war. All the way from Belgium to the northern Italian alps

And how would these matches resolve? You could play all day and end up firing off one round, or gaining two inches of land.

I've got it! One hundred soldiers versus one hundred attack dogs!

well.. I guess it would take some really crazy gamers, but it would probably be crazy fun! and as for resolution, it's resolved when the war is over! So it would need to be a large server size because people would need to be logged on at all times in order to keep their side from loosing.

I refuse to play any WWII games unless I can play as a Nazi in a pro-Nazi single-player story.
That, and I'm sick to death of C4'ing the AA-Gun. :|

Yeah! That would be fun! The minigames could include baking Jews in ovens or seeing how many Polish sailors you can blow up! Yeehaw!

I had he same thought on KMC...
But yeah, maybe raiding an Eastern European village and shooting the women and children as they flee, have a "whack-a-Jew" mini-game.

are you a Nazi, Pink? Do Jews frighten you? Are you inclined to attack both of your neighbors at the same time? Are you running out of oil and hope that conquering those around you will solve this problem? Does Mexico look like a good staging point to destroy the United States?

I would like to play both sides of the story for once, not just be an ally every single time in a WWII game. The closest you can get is Skirmish mode on Brothers in Arms, and each German soldier looks identical while all the Americans were painstakingly rendered to look unique and lifelike. Wow, that's awesome, folks. Let's make faceless Nazi clones and shoot them.

No I'm not a Nazi, but Blaxica is a fascist country.
