A nod to an old IKC versus thread!
Cervantes of Soul Blade/Calibre fame is considered at his peak and wielding the Soul Edge.
Scorpion is the Champion of the Elder Gods as of Deception.
The setting is a back alley somewhere.

I have, and he's one of those people who hasn't canonically done much.
Canonically speaking, his feats consist of defeating Li Long, another featless wonder, and losing to Taki.
As far as hs abilities, he has short-range teleportarion that wasn't enough to save him from getting his ass kicked by Taki and Sophithia, sword fighting skills, and a single-shot old school pistol.

Actually, he's hardly the push-over you describe. It's true his power waxes and wanes relating to the Soul Edge, but even when he initially acquired it, he slaughtered his whole crew and an entire City of Valencia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valencia_(city_in_Spain)). He was defeated first by Sophitia, who was wielding a god-enchanted weapon which was designed to destroy one of Cervantes' Soul Edge blades. All she really had to do was hit the damn thing. Taki (Who routinely defeats demons, btw) ambushed him and saved Sophitia, killing Cervantes. So yeah, some context puts it in light.
In SC IV, he pretty much brings to life an entire army of the dead, his power having increased now that he's no longer a slave to the blade, and he even has the power to corrupt his old blade Acheron. I'll need to replay the games again for some more info, but he's clearly not a wimp. I'm not sure I could substantiate him to be definitely higher than Scorpion at his peak, but he'd be a decent fighter for him.

You had better be kidding me. Predator can do that. Do you see Predator killing Cervantes by virtue of having the upper body strength to rip their spine out along with their head? (Which would never happen that easily, of course). No, because a feat not put in context means nothing.

Logic says Scorpion either has bone-magnetism + acidness OR telekinesis; the first combination would let him dissolve the flesh while he pulled the skeletal system to him, and the second alone would let him hold the body in place while he physically ripped it out.
