Bounty hunting is a fun idea, but a bit tricky to RP without infringing on someone's right to moderate freeform. Therefore, I've come up with an idea to integrate bounties into WotOR. Mind you, this is an initial suggestion; if it doesn't work, we can scrap it and start anew.

The idea is that when a Bounty Hunter takes a specific bounty at the Guild thread (Which will be created shortly) and receives 1 Ambush card and two Confrontation cards. They work as follows:

Ambush Cards are best used at the exact right moment; the bounty hunter may track their prey into a fitting area and play this card. After doing so, they must post, roleplaying exactly how they tracked the enemy to this point, leading up to the actual confrontation. This may include a trap, sneak attack, or snipe attempt, etc. Depending on how well this ambush is thought out and presented, it will either succeed or fail. Better planning and better posting = higher chances of successfully ambushing prey. After this, the bounty may reply as if it were a normal battle, assuming that they weren't so incredibly disabled that resistance is useless.

Confrontation Cards work a bit differently; you still have to post how you got there along with an attempted attack or just intro (If you're into dramatics), but the success rate is lower since you've already encountered this bounty at least once. This doesn't mean you can't take down a prey with ease; it just means you'll really have to be creative and ingenius in your methods. Otherwise, it continues like a normal fight.

If your prey escapes all three attempts, you must report the failure to your Guild and receive a Pursuit Card. This is essentially a Confrontation Card that has unlimited uses for that prey. You will receive a smaller amount of the sum for the attempt since you failed the initial three attempts (Generally you receive 75%of the bounty instead of the full amount).

Being Prey

This is the simple part. Really, you can only ever know that a player controlled hunter is on your tail if the following occurs:

1. You get a pretty up to date news link or some NPC whom I bestow on you knows what's up. Don't expect this one often.

2. The Force tells you. Cuz I told it to. This typically happens if you take advanced precognition or perhaps I'm feeling particularly whimsical.

3. The hunter tried to infiltrate into a place where you could possibly find their presence (Such as your friend's bar, or the Jedi temple or the chancellor's office building) and they botched on their attempts to infiltrate. If this happens, an alarm/ally etc. may alert you.

4. The hunter botches their ambush card. Obviously, you know they're there then.

5. They don't pretend to hide themselves. In that case, you should be able to detect them because they're already shooting at you or people to get to you.

6. Miscellaneous deus ex machina to be determined at a later date.

- REMEMBER: People outside of the Guild who post bounties in the Guild thread... You must possess enough credits for the transaction at the time of posting. (See soon to be posted About Credits thread)

Any questions? Here's the place for it.
